Pelops II reactivates, having merged with all of its alternate versions, and reveals that Ashihara had initiated a complex calculation during the test twenty years earlier, which was interrupted by the explosion and was never finished. Mei realizes that this calculation must have been Ashihara's attempt to stop the Catastrophe. In Tokyo, the Otaki team and their military escorts fight their way towards Godzilla through a flock of Rodans. Salunga reaches the Shiva facility; Tilda and her soldiers use their only remaining Diagonalyzer rocket against it, but this time Salunga quickly recovers...
